The game began by having 20 people sign up as their favorite Survivor castaways of all time. No castaway that had already been played in a previous season of this series could be chosen again. There were no other real limitations on who they could pick to play as.

The 20 players were told there were no tribes at all. Instead they would play the entire game as individuals.

Every round the players battled it out in individual Immunity Challenges. The player who did the very best in each challenge was allowed to cast a Top Spot vote, single handedly kicking someone off Primary Island. The top half of the cast was spared from Tribal Council for the round in which they won, but the bottom half of the cast went to Tribal Council (TC for short) and voted one member off Primary Island.

Also, at 3 points in the game those who won immunity were allowed to compete in a Reward Challenge. First reward being a Top Spot Idol, second reward being a Tribal Council Idol and the third reward being the right to dethrone a Juror.

All players booted through Top Spot and voted out at TC were sent to Secondary Island. Each round those at Secondary Island would compete in a challenge for the right to stay one more round in the game. The 1 winner would survive another round, while all others would leave the game permanently.

Once only 4 remained on Primary Island, the right to boot someone through Top Spot was removed. Instead, it was a simple Immunity Challenge with only 1 winner and all members going to TC.

Once only 3 remained on Primary Island, the players competed in an obstacle course of previous challenges. This being an Elimination Challenge, the 1 player who did the worse was sent to Primary Island while the 2 who survive the challenge were guaranteed spots in the Final Tribal Council.

In the very last round for those at Secondary Island, the player who won the very last challenge won the right to return to Primary Island and be the third player to stand in the Final Tribal Council.

At the F3, those who received 11th-4th Place were brought back in order to vote for who they'd wish to win this game. They could only vote for 1 of the 3 players who made it to the end of the game.
